Palaakottai sambar/Jackfruit seeds sambar


Recipe:

 Ingredients:

1 cup = 250ml

Jackfruit seeds - 10/15

Tuvar dal - 1 /2 cup

Tamarind - lemon sized

Spice powders:

Turmeric powder

Sambar powder - 1tsp

Salt to taste 

To saute and grind:

Dhaniya - 1 tbsp

Chana dal - 1 tbsp

Red chillies - 10

Coconut - 4 tbsp

Hing - 1 pellet

Tempering ingredients:

Coconut oil, mustard,curry leaves

Method:

1. Pressure cook seeds and dal for 6 or 7 whistles.

2. Saute and grind coriander seeds, chana dal, chillies, hing adding  water .

3. Prepare tamarind extract.

4. Cook the tamarind extract with spice powders till raw smell disappears.

5. Add the masala paste to the extract and cook for 5 minutes 

6. Add the cooked dal and seeds mixture and boil for 20 minutes in low flame 

7. Finally add the tempering.
