Avaraikkai Puli kulambu





 A tangy gravy for rice with broad beans a the main ingredient.

Recipe:

Ingredients with measurements:

Avaraikkai/Broad beans - 10 (chopped)

Shallots- 10/15

Garlic - 1 pod

Tamarind - lemon sized

Spice powders:

Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp

Kuzhambu powder- 2 tsp

Red chilli powder - 1/2 tsp (optional)

Salt - to taste

Masala:

Coconut - 2 tbsp

Tomato - 1(big)

Jeera -1/2 tsp

Red chillies - 4

Tempering:

Sesame oil - 1 tsp

Mustard - 1/2 tsp

Methi seeds - 1/2 tsp

Red chillies - 2

Curry leaves - 1 sprig

Hing - 1/4 tsp


Directions:

1. Heat oil, add the tempering ingredients.

2. Add the veggies and saute them.

3. Add tamarind extract. Cook the veggies in tamarind extract.

5 Add spice powders.

6. Cook till raw smell disappears.

7. Add the masala.

8. Simmer the gravy for 7 to 10 mins.
