Khamiri roti


 

Khamiri roti is nothing but fermented bread. This recipe is adapted from Pankaj bhadourias instagram page.

Ingredients:

Whole wheat flour - 2 cups

Instant yeast - 2 tsp

Sugar - 2 tsp

Warm milk - 1/2 cup

Salt- as required

Water - to knead the dough.

Directions:

1. Mix all the ingredients.  Knead into a soft dough.

2. Cover the dough and allow it to rest for a minimum of 40 mins, maximum 2 hours. 

3. After 40 mins , when the dough has risen, Make equal number of balls out of it.

4. Flatten the dough, apply water on one side and place it firmly on the heated pan/ tawa.

5. When small bubbles starts appearing just invert the tawa and cook the roti in the open flame.

6. Smear butter on both sides and serve with any masala of your choice.
