Keerai pongal/ Saag ki khichdi

A balanced proportion of carbs, protein, fiber and fats. 



Ingredients:

Drumstick leaves(any keerai/greens)- 3 handfuls

Millet rice ( Ive taken saamai) - 1 cup

Moong dal - 1/2 cup

Water - 5 cups

Salt

Jeera- 1/2 tsp

Ginger - 1" inch

Tempering:

Ghee + oil

Curry leaves 

Cashews

Pepper (coarsely ground) - 1 tsp

Garlic - a few cloves.

Hing

Directions:

1. Wash millet rice and thoroughly. 

2. Dry roast moong dal.

3. Pressure cook rice and Dal with keerai, jeera, ginger and salt added.

4. Release the Pressure and add the tempering.

5. Mix well and serve with coconut Chutney and sambar
